Maze was founded in 2004 in Australia by Ronen, who grew up in a small farming village. Maze is still a family business: his wife, Hayley, develops educational resources for younger generations. Maze's headquarters are in Clayton, near Melbourne.

Maze designs products for composting at home and in the yard. Maze rotating composters are developed and designed in Australia: a reinforced, UV-protected drum, a divider that creates two chambers, a geared crank handle, and a coated steel frame. Part of Maze's manufacturing takes place in Australia, and the rest is handled by selected partners.
