Who is Tumbleweed?

Did you know?

Tumbleweed has recycled more than 14,300 tons (13,000 metric tons) of plastic since 1998, and the Worm Café is made from 100% recycled plastic.

Tumbleweed is a privately owned Australian company with a presence worldwide. Tumbleweed has been making worm composters in Australia for more than 30 years and was one of the pioneers of home vermicomposting.

Tumbleweed's commitment is clear: worm composters and compost bins made in Australia from Australian-sourced recycled plastic, by Australian employees. The Worm Café is designed and made in Australia from 100% recycled plastic. It features a hinged lid with instructions molded on the underside, a leachate tray with a spigot, and ant-proof legs.

At Moutta Farm, we chose Tumbleweed for the sturdiness and large capacity of the Worm Café. We also carry all the Worm Café replacement parts: tray, lid, leachate tray, and legs. All Tumbleweed products come with a 2-year warranty.

Questions about Tumbleweed products

Worm Café with 2 or 3 trays: which should I choose?

The 2-tray Worm Café worm composter is all you need to get started: the worms settle into the first tray, then move up into the second. The 3-tray version gives you more capacity, which is handy for a family or for harvesting more often. With 3.7 gallons (14 liters) of usable space per tray, the Worm Café is a large worm bin.

What else do I need besides the Worm Café worm composter?

To get your Worm Café started, you'll need composting worms. We recommend starting with an amount (by weight) suited to the size of your household. After that, simply add your fruit and vegetable peels.

Can a Worm Café be expanded or repaired?

Yes. An extra Worm Café tray lets you add another level so you can compost more. Other Worm Café replacement parts are sold individually: the lid, leachate tray, and legs.
