Who is Plastia?

Did you know?

At Plastia, production scraps are ground up and reused, so nothing gets thrown away. Part of the factory even runs on solar power.

Plastia is a Czech family business founded in 1993 by Mr. and Mrs. Novotný. Plastia designs, manufactures, stores, and ships its products from its facility in Nové Veselí, in the Vysočina region. Its motto: "Not from China, but from Vysočina." Plastia's products are 100% made in the Czech Republic and exported to more than 50 countries.

Plastia works with Czech designers, and several Plastia products have won the Red Dot Award. Recycled plastic is used for internal parts whenever possible, and every part is labeled to make recycling easier. Plastia also makes the Urbalive line.

Moutta Farm, which has been raising composting worms since 2007, chose Plastia for the sturdiness of its worm bins. All WORMcube replacement parts are available to help your WORMcube worm composter last longer.

Questions about Plastia products

WORMcube or In-Ground: which Plastia worm composter should you choose?

The WORMcube worm composter is a stackable tray worm bin, ideal indoors, on a balcony, or on a patio. The In-Ground worm composter is buried in a planter, a vegetable garden, or a raised bed, where the worms enrich the surrounding soil directly. No yard? Choose the WORMcube.

WORMcube with 2 or 3 trays: which one should I choose?

The 2-tray WORMcube is plenty to get started or for a small household. The 3-tray WORMcube offers more capacity for a family. You can always add a WORMcube tray later.

What else do you need to get started with a Plastia worm composter?

You'll need composting worms, sold by weight. A leachate tray and a sprayer are handy for using worm tea on your plants. Browse all our worm composter accessories.

How do Plastia self-watering pots work?

The Berberis and Tolita Air pots have a water reservoir and capillary strips. The plant draws up the water it needs, so you water less often. See all our planters and pots.
