Who is Alcobarro by Carlos Da Pilar?
Did you know? The name Marguerite (daisy) comes from the Greek margarítēs, "pearl," in reference to the flower's pale center.
Alcobarro is a Portuguese ceramics house based near Lisbon, with its head office in Alcochete and its workshop in Montijo. Behind Alcobarro is Carlos Da Pilar, a ceramic artisan who has devoted his life to Portuguese ceramics for more than 40 years.
Each Alcobarro flower is shaped by hand in the house's artisan molds, then hand-painted. Shapes, sizes, and shades vary slightly from one flower to the next. That is the hallmark of handmade work. Your flower is truly unique.
At Moutta Farm, we love long-lasting things made with care. Alcobarro ceramic flowers bring color all year round, with no watering. Mix and match the Daisy, the Anthurium, the Lisianthus, or the Pétrosia in over 150 color variations. Browse the full collection in our ceramic flowers.
Questions about Alcobarro by Carlos Da Pilar products
How do I arrange a bouquet of Alcobarro ceramic flowers?
Mix shapes and sizes. The 3.1-inch (8 cm) Daisy adds roundness, while the Anthurium and the Ondalys bring movement. Slip in a few mini flowers, such as the Uniflora mini, to fill out the bouquet. The 11.8-inch (30 cm) stems can be cut to fit the height of your vase.
What's the difference between an Alcobarro flower and a mini flower?
The difference is the size of the flower: about 3.1 in (8 cm) for the Daisy and 2 in (5 cm) for the Daisy mini flower. The stem is 11.8 in (30 cm) long on both. Mini flowers are also available in Ondalys and Uniflora.
Do Alcobarro ceramic flowers make a good gift?
Yes. Every Alcobarro flower is a one-of-a-kind piece, handmade in Portugal, and each design has its own symbolism: the Lisianthus for gratitude, the Pétrosia for strength, and the Uniflora for harmony. The flowers are sold individually, without a vase.
