In-ground garden oyas go right in the heart of your vegetable garden, flower bed, or large planter. Fill it from the top, and the oya waters on its own for 4 to 5 days. Its lid helps limit evaporation. Two sizes: M, 0.4 gal (1.5 L) and L, 1.3 gal (5 L), in micro-porous ceramic handmade in France.

Oyas Environnement is a French maker of watering pots. Its workshops are based in Saint-Jean-de-Fos, in France's Hérault department, a village with a long pottery tradition. Since 2014, Oyas Environnement has been reviving an age-old irrigation method: the oya buried at the base of plants.
Each Oya is shaped by hand on the potter's wheel from natural clay. The micro-porous ceramic lets water seep through by capillary action, at the pace the soil needs. When the soil is moist, the flow slows down on its own. No energy, no hoses, no waste.

The size L, which holds 1.3 gallons (5 liters), waters a larger area and is ideal in the vegetable garden for tomatoes or zucchini. The water only seeps out locally, so place the oya as close to the roots as possible.

Yes, the Planting oya 30 cl comes in 9 colors of glazed ceramic, so you can match it to your pot and your decor. It waters your plant on its own for 4 to 5 days. If the pot sits outdoors, be sure to bring the oya inside for the winter.
