Bokashi Activator & Starter

Bokashi activator, or starter, is the one essential ingredient for keeping your Bokashi bucket working properly. Handcrafted at Moutta Farm, it starts and sustains the fermentation of your food scraps through the action of effective microorganisms (EM).

Made from carefully selected bran inoculated with official EM-1 from Professor Teruo Higa, the renowned inventor of bokashi, this activator promotes fast, odor-free, and well-controlled fermentation. It lets you process a wide range of organic waste, including cooked food, meat, fish, and dairy products, which are usually left out of traditional composting.

Can be used in an outdoor composter to activate your compost and reduce unpleasant odors. You can also boost the beneficial bacteria in your plants' potting soil by sprinkling it on the surface.
