Dendros Manure Worms (Dendrobaena veneta): large size (between 2.4 and 3.9 in, or 6 and 10 cm), average worm weight 0.06 oz (1.7 g), red/brown color with striping. No babies or larvae.
Every order is carefully prepared: worms are sorted and packed on the day of shipping to guarantee their freshness, vitality, and excellent health on arrival. The worms are weighed, not counted.
At Moutta Farm, we've chosen generous, high-quality packaging. Each box contains sorted and weighed worms, to which we add an amount of substrate equal to twice the weight of the worms.
This bedding, developed on our farm, recreates an ideal habitat that supports their well-being and longevity.
This care in preparation and packing ensures you get robust, lively worms that are ready to use, whether for fishing or for feeding your animals.
Fishing bait:
The dendro worm is a versatile worm that's especially popular as fishing bait. Its large size, toughness, and liveliness make it an excellent choice for many fish species, such as eel, barbel, bream, carp, chub, roach, grayling, perch, catfish, rudd, tench, and trout.
It stays on the hook well and works just as well for river, lake, and pond fishing.
Animal feed:
The Dendro can also be used as food for certain reptiles and amphibians. It's well suited to Litoria frogs, lizards such as Tiliqua, and snakes such as Thamnophis.
Some insect-eating or omnivorous birds, such as chickens, ducks, or pigeons, can benefit from worms as a dietary supplement.
Its size and nutritional value make it a suitable food source for many insectivorous and omnivorous species.
Your worms come in a micro-perforated box or bag that allows good airflow while maintaining the right humidity level.
Keeping your worms:
When your worms arrive, we recommend placing the box in a cool spot, such as a basement or the bottom of a refrigerator.
Kept this way, your worms will stay healthy for several weeks. To keep them lively, we recommend feeding them our special protein feed twice a week: sprinkle lightly and add a little water to maintain moderate humidity.
If you want to keep them for several months, simply replace their bedding about once a month, using our substrate or coco fiber.
