A 16.9 fl oz (500 ml) concentrated liquid blend specially formulated to stimulate breeding and activity of the composting worms in your worm composter. By making your worms bigger and hungrier, it increases how much organic waste your bin can process.

Directions: Dilute 2–3 capfuls in 8.5 fl oz (¼ liter) of water, then spray or pour directly onto your worms from time to time. You'll see a significant increase in your worm population, which can double in about 8 weeks.

Handy tip: For best results, also moisten the hemp mat covering your worms to encourage their movement and appetite.

Your questions about the WORMboost

The farm's answers to the questions our customers ask us most often.

WORMboost is a concentrated liquid stimulant (16.9 fl oz (500 ml) bottle), rich in carbohydrates and formulated by Moutta Farm to stimulate the reproduction and appetite of your composting worms. More worms with bigger appetites means more food scraps processed.

It's a helping hand, not a requirement: in a well-maintained worm composter, the population already doubles roughly every 3 to 4 months. WORMboost is useful for speeding up the start-up phase or helping a colony rebuild.

All our advice: How do earthworms reproduce in a worm composter?

WORMboost is a supplement: it doesn't replace your food scraps or cardboard, so keep feeding your worms as usual. It works best with:

  • our WormFood, a pelleted feed: together, they encourage reproduction, whether you're raising worms or away from home;
  • your hemp mat: moisten it with the diluted solution to encourage your worms to move around and eat.

Both come together, along with the RegulaWorm and a mini rake, in our 5-accessory pack.

WORMboost is a liquid blend highly concentrated in carbohydrates, with a formula developed by Moutta Farm.

WORMboost is diluted in water and applied to the worms or to the hemp mat on the active tray, as a supplement to their regular diet of food scraps and carbon-rich materials.

Dilute 2 to 3 capfuls of WORMboost in 8.5 fl oz (¼ liter) of water, then spray or pour it directly onto the worms in the active tray (the top one). If you have a hemp mat, simply spray the solution onto it.

Repeat from time to time, for example once a week as stated in the instructions. WORMboost should always be used diluted, following this dosage.

WORMboost is especially useful:

  • when setting up your worm composter, to help the population settle in;
  • when you add more food scraps: bigger, hungrier worms can process more of them;
  • to grow your colony quickly: the population can double in about 8 weeks.

Use it from time to time, always diluted, spraying it directly onto the worms or onto the hemp mat covering them.

All our tips: How do earthworms reproduce in a worm bin?

Keep the bottle in a cool, dry place. Because it's rich in carbohydrates, WORMboost tends to ferment in hot weather. This is perfectly normal. To keep the bottle from swelling, open and close the cap from time to time to let the gas escape.

Once opened, it keeps for 2 years when stored away from moisture and light.

The chance to start composting came my way when I was given a worm composter, even though it wasn't my first choice. It pushed me to look into it more closely.
I bought my first worms from the Ferme du Moutta on Amazon. I did it three times, because, since I couldn't see these little underground workers, I wondered whether they were still alive. It was only by looking more closely that I saw there were even more of them than at the start, and just as lively as when I received them from the farm.
I recently ordered several products on the Moutta website, and I don't regret my choice. I found a wide variety of vermicomposting items that weren't available elsewhere. In particular, I bought hemp mats, which proved very effective, as well as wormboost, which really did give my little Willys more vigour when it comes to breeding.
After contacting the Ferme du Moutta with questions on various topics, notably on how well some products hold up over time, I was pleasantly surprised to get a quick and detailed answer to my concerns.
For all these reasons, and others I haven't mentioned, it seems obvious to me that this is a reliable site. What's more, their products and prices are more attractive than on other well-known platforms.

My worm colony has reproduced well despite somewhat harsh living conditions... exposed full south in summer and hit by the wind in winter

Used it only once, after a wave of deaths caused by the heatwave while I was away. Very effective. The survivors quickly repopulated their bin.

I used it once my worms were well settled in and I noticed they couldn't manage to eat everything I was giving them. Very quickly I noticed that lots of tiny worms were appearing; a real orgy in there…
