Made from recycled coffee grounds, this bio bucket is an eco-friendly, practical way to collect your food scraps and other organic waste before composting. It's specially designed for people who use a composter or a worm composter, making daily sorting and prepping your scraps for composting easy.

With its compact dimensions and 1-gallon (3.7-liter) capacity, this bio bucket fits perfectly in small kitchens and on countertops. Its modern, minimalist design with rounded edges makes cleaning easy. It also features an ergonomic handle for simple, comfortable carrying.

The self-supporting lid can hang from the rim of the bucket using its inner hook, saving space and making everyday use more convenient.

Made from eco-friendly, durable materials, including recycled coffee grounds, it helps reduce waste and support a circular economy. Every year, hundreds of pounds (several hundred kilograms) of coffee grounds are reclaimed to make these bio buckets, reducing environmental impact.

The Urbalive bio bucket is the perfect companion for your worm composter. Letting your food scraps begin to break down before adding them to your worm bin makes the worms' job easier and optimizes the composting process, resulting in rich, effective compost.

Your questions about the Urbalive 3.7L Bio Bucket

The farm's answers to the questions our customers ask us most often.

The Urbalive bio bucket holds 1 gallon (3.7 liters). It's the most compact of our bio buckets, designed for small kitchens. It fits easily on a countertop, within easy reach while you peel.

Its self-supporting lid hangs on the rim of the bucket by its inner hook, so you don't need to set it down beside you while you fill the bucket.

Holding nearly 1 gallon (3.7 liters), the Urbalive bio bucket is ideal for a single person or a couple. As a general guide, a 0.8–1.1 gallon (3–4 L) bio bucket is enough for 1 or 2 people who empty it often, while a 1.6–2.4 gallon (6–9 L) model is a better fit for a family.

Empty it 2 to 3 times a week into your composter or worm composter. Its compact size makes this quick and easy. For a family, check out our Urbalive 6L trash can or Maze 9L instead.

The Urbalive 3.7L bio bucket is made in the Czech Republic from recycled plastic that incorporates recycled coffee grounds. Every year, hundreds of pounds (several hundred kilograms) of coffee grounds are recovered this way to make these bio buckets.

Its clean design, rounded edges, and ergonomic handle make it pleasant to use every day and easy to clean.

No, the two work hand in hand. The Urbalive bio bucket is for storing your food scraps for a few days before you take them out to the composter or worm composter. A bokashi bucket, on the other hand, is airtight and ferments the scraps with an activator, so they can be kept for several weeks, meat and fish included.

The bio bucket collects the day's scraps, and you fill the bokashi bucket once a day.

A few days, as long as you empty it at least once a week. The Urbalive bio bucket serves as a holding station between your kitchen and your worm composter: during this short storage time, the peels start to break down, which your worms love, since they have no teeth.

Just keep an eye out for scraps that are off-limits for worms. It's the perfect companion for your worm bin.
