This compost bin (or bio bucket) is an ideal eco-friendly solution for collecting your organic waste before composting. Specially designed for people who have a composter or worm composter, it makes everyday sorting easy while keeping kitchen odors to a minimum.

It fits perfectly in small kitchens and sits easily on a countertop. Its sleek, modern design with rounded edges makes cleaning quick and simple. An ergonomic handle offers a comfortable grip for easy carrying to your composter.

Made from eco-friendly, durable materials, including recycled coffee grounds, this bin actively helps reduce waste and supports the circular economy. Every year, hundreds of pounds (several hundred kilograms) of coffee grounds are upcycled and turned into bio bins, reducing environmental impact.

Its removable inner basket makes cleaning easier and ensures good air circulation, helping to reduce unpleasant smells for optimal everyday comfort.

The Urbalive compost bin is the ideal companion for your worm bin. By letting food scraps start breaking down before you add them to the composter, you make the worms' job easier and optimize the composting process.

Your questions about the Urbalive 6L Bio Bucket

The farm's answers to the questions our customers ask us most often.

The Urbalive compost bin holds 1.6 gallons (6 liters) and fits easily on a countertop, even in a small kitchen. Its ergonomic handle makes it effortless to carry out to the composter.

Its key feature is a removable inner basket. Simply lift it out to empty your food scraps cleanly. It also lets air circulate, which helps limit unpleasant odors.

With a capacity of 1.6 gallons (6 liters), the Urbalive bin is a great fit for a family. As a general rule of thumb, a 0.8–1.1 gallon (3–4 L) compost pail is enough for 1 or 2 people, while a 1.6–2.4 gallon (6–9 L) model suits a family.

Empty it 2 to 3 times a week into your composter or worm bin: its removable inner basket lifts out and empties cleanly in one easy motion. For a couple, our Urbalive 3.7L compost pail, from the same line, is often all you need.

The Urbalive 6L compost bin is made in the Czech Republic from recycled plastic that incorporates recycled coffee grounds. Hundreds of pounds (several hundred kilograms) of coffee grounds are put to good use every year to make these bins.

It's a circular economy approach that goes hand in hand with composting your own food scraps.

Empty it at least once a week; in between, a few days of storage is plenty. During that time, your peels start to soften, which suits your worms just fine: since they have no teeth, they wait for food scraps to break down before eating them.

The removable basket of the Urbalive 6L trash can lets you empty food scraps neatly into your worm composter. Just be sure not to put in any scraps that are off-limits to worms.

Remove the inner basket from the Urbalive bin, empty it, and rinse it with hot water; its rounded edges keep residue from sticking. Also rinse the lid and the outer bucket regularly, since moisture can build up there.

Ideally, rinse it every time you empty it, and at least once a week, to keep odors down.
