Tray for Urbalive

The Urbalive comes with 2 or 3 trays and holds a maximum of 4 trays, according to its technical specifications, so you can add 1 or 2 more depending on your model. Each Urbalive tray offers 3.7 gallons (14 liters) of usable space. Full trays are heavy, so once the bottom tray has been completely turned into vermicompost, harvest it instead of stacking more levels.

The middle trays are used for curing: the vermicompost matures there undisturbed while the worms move up toward the fresh scraps. As soon as the active tray of your Urbalive is three-quarters full, add a new one. Set it directly on top, add your fresh food scraps with a little damp cardboard, and put the lid back on: the worms will move up on their own, drawn by the food. Once the bottom tray is fully processed, harvest it, then place it back at the top of the stack.
