Tray for WORMbox

We recommend a maximum of 5 trays per WORMbox to keep the whole unit stable and the worm composter working properly. Since the WORMbox comes with 2 to 4 trays, you can add one or more, depending on your model. Each WORMbox tray provides 3.4 gallons (13 liters) of usable composting space.

The WORMbox tray is available in a wide range of colors. You can match the new tray to your WORMbox or, if you prefer, create a multicolored worm composter that blends in with your decor.

To compost more: each tray adds 3.4 gallons (13 liters) of usable space, and the WORMbox is designed to grow with your household as your family expands. More WORMbox trays also means more time for the vermicompost to mature in the lower levels before you harvest it. On average, it takes about a month to fill a tray. Add a new WORMbox tray when the active tray, the top one, is three-quarters full. Set it directly on top, add your fresh food scraps with a little damp cardboard, then put the lid back on: the worms will make their own way up through the holes, drawn by the food.
