The WORMgarden lid always sits at the very top, over the central composting area. If you add a planter for WORMgarden, just place the lid back on top. You can stack up to 3 planters. At the bottom, the base collects excess irrigation water, and our spigot + seal for worm composters, which is compatible with the WORMgarden, lets you reuse that water for your plants. Like the rest of the WORMgarden, this lid is made in France and comes with a 2-year warranty.

Yes. Thanks to its sturdy design, the WORMgarden lid offers excellent long-term durability, both indoors and outdoors. It keeps in the moisture and warmth your worms need, and it helps keep pests and odors at bay. Any excess irrigation water or rainwater that drains through the planters is collected in the base, which holds up to 2.6 gallons (10 liters), and can be drained off through the spigot. Be sure to close the lid securely each time you add food scraps.
