To keep the WORMbox leachate tray working properly, leave the spigot open at all times with a container underneath, and clean the leachate tray once a month by removing the vermicompost that builds up in it. Otherwise, the spigot can clog. Then rinse the tray thoroughly with plenty of water. It's normal to find a few worms in the WORMbox leachate tray. It's a bit like their basement, and they'll make their own way back up. The WORMbox has no filter, but if you like, you can place a piece of frost cloth in the leachate tray to act as a barrier.
