EM Photo+ Aquabiome

The manufacturer recommends using it with Microferm for green water (16.9 fl oz (0.5 L) of EM Photo+ and 2.6 gallons (10 liters) of Microferm per 2,640 gallons (10,000 liters) of water per year), and with our EM pond balls (1–2 balls per 10.8 sq ft (1 m²), once a year, ideally in winter) when sludge builds up on the bottom. EM Photo+ works in the water and the balls work on the bottom, so the two complement each other.

According to the manufacturer, EM Photo+ is a natural solution with no negative impact on your pond's wildlife and plant life when used at the recommended dose. Follow the dosage instructions, and if you have a heavy algae bloom, apply it more often rather than increasing the dose, as our product page recommends. It's available in sizes from 16.9 fl oz to 2.6 gallons (0.5 to 10 L).

Our product page recommends 34 fl oz (1 L) of EM Photo+, diluted, for a 1,600-gallon (6,000 L) pond. For a larger pond, increase the dose proportionally and split it into several applications spaced out over time. Repeat 3 to 4 times a year if the algae persist. The page also gives an annual dose for use in combination: 17 fl oz (0.5 L) of EM Photo+ with 2.6 gallons (10 L) of Microferm per 2,600 gallons (10,000 L) of water.

Apply EM Photo+ from March to November, ideally once a month: the manufacturer recommends splitting the yearly amount into several doses rather than pouring it all in at once. If algae growth is heavy, apply it more often rather than increasing the dose. Gentle water movement (a pump or waterfall) helps distribute the microorganisms evenly.
