Vermicomposting training by videoconference

We hold the vermicomposting video training 1 to 2 times a month:

• on Tuesday or Wednesday, from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.;
• on one Saturday every other month, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

When you sign up, you choose the date that works best for you from the open sessions. If none of the dates fit your schedule, check back a little later: new sessions are added to the calendar regularly.

The vermicomposting video session takes place live on Zoom from the farm's studio and lasts about 1 to 1.5 hours. It is hosted by Julien, the manager of Moutta Farm, and includes hands-on demonstrations.

On the agenda: getting your worm composter started, which food scraps to add and which to avoid, how to use compost tea and vermicompost, and common problems and how to solve them. The session wraps up with a Q&A, and you're welcome to join in if you'd like. Sessions are limited to 300 participants to keep the discussion high-quality.

For the vermicomposting video session, all you need is the free Zoom app. The link and access code are emailed to you the day before the session, at the address you used to sign up.

Our tip: install Zoom and test your audio a few days ahead of time, so you can get the most out of the session and the Q&A with Julien. Can't find the email? Check your spam folder, or contact us: we'll be happy to send you the codes again.

No, the session is live only. It isn't recorded, and we don't send out any written materials afterward. If you missed it, you can simply sign up for another date.

Yes. If you can't make the video session or ran into a technical issue, send us an email: we'll cancel your registration, and you can sign up again for an upcoming date using the link you received after placing your order.

You're also welcome to join a little late or leave before the end if needed. If you're attending the session through a program run by your city or county, they handle the registrations, so please contact the relevant department to change your date.

Some cities and counties offer the video session to their residents before providing them with a worm composter. In this case, Julien gives out a participation code at the end of the session, so be sure to write it down.

Then send this code by email to your city or county, following the instructions they gave you. It allows them to confirm your attendance and arrange for you to receive your worm composter. If you didn't write it down, contact your city or county, or email us with the date of your session.

Yes, there are no technical restrictions on multiple people joining the session, whether in front of the same screen or from different locations. If needed, just email us and ask us to send the codes to another person as well. The session is offered in French only.
