Pro-Mest Total is an advanced solution designed to improve the quality of manure slurry over the long term.
It acts as a buffer against harmful substances, notably by limiting the urease process that converts urea into ammonia.
Used together with Microferm, Pro-Mest Total produces a more uniform, healthier, and more stable slurry.
Benefits
- Limits the conversion of urea into ammonia;
- Reduces gas emissions;
- Reduces crust formation;
- Makes the slurry more uniform;
- Optimizes nitrogen use;
- Preserves methane potential (biogas);
- Improves air quality in livestock barns.
Pro-Mest Total makes slurry management more efficient and more environmentally friendly.
It improves agronomic quality, reduces environmental impact, optimizes nitrogen, and promotes a healthier environment for your livestock.
An essential solution for farms focused on performance and sustainability.
Directions for use
Starting treatment
Begin when the manure pit is less than 50% full.
- 0.53 gal (2 L) of Pro-Mest Total;
- Dilute in at least 5.3 gal (20 L) of water;
- Per 26,400 gal (100 m³) of slurry.
One week later
- 5.3 gal (20 L) of Microferm;
- Per 26,400 gal (100 m³) of slurry.
Maintenance dose
In the pit or in slatted-floor barns (start-up phase, then maintenance).
Weekly:
- 34 fl oz (1 L) of Pro-Mest Total;
- Dilute in about 15.9 gal (60 L) of water;
- Per 50 LSU(*).
Monthly:
- 2.6 gal (10 L) of Microferm;
- Dilute in 5.3–15.9 gal (20–60 L) of water;
- Per 50 LSU(*).
*LSU = Livestock Unit
Indications & Mode of action
In manure pits, the enzymatic conversion of urea into ammonia causes nitrogen losses, gas emissions, and poorer air quality in barns.
Pro-Mest Total acts as a regulator by buffering various harmful substances in the slurry. This limits the urease process, reduces ammonia emissions, and stabilizes organic matter.
Treated slurry becomes:
- More uniform;
- More fluid;
- Healthier;
- Much less prone to crust formation.
This stabilization improves the barn environment (fewer odors, fewer flies), optimizes nitrogen efficiency, and preserves the biogas potential of stored slurry.
Important recommendations
- Apply evenly over the entire surface of the slurry.
- Use non-chlorinated water to protect microbial activity.
- Adjust the dilution if needed to ensure even distribution.
Possible application methods:
- Dosing pump;
- Venturi system (water/EM mix through a hose);
- 2.6-gallon (10 L) watering can (remove the spray head for faster pouring).
