AurillacAll the worms died. I had put the worm composter on the balcony, and even though I lowered the blind, they must have gotten too hot. I found some scattered on the floor, dead. I had to throw everything away.
What a shame, because since I've been living in an apartment, I no longer have a composter available and I have to throw my peelings in the bin!
Tous les vers sont morts. J'avais mis le lombricomposteur sur le balcon et même si je descendais le store ils ont dû avoir trop chaud. J'en ai retrouvés éparpillés sur le sol et morts. J'ai dû tout jeter.
Dommage, car depuis que j'habite en appartement, je n'ai plus de composteur à ma disposition et je dois jeter mes épluchures à la poubelle !

During periods of intense heat, a balcony can indeed become too hot an environment for worms, even when the blind is lowered. Worm composters can quickly build up heat, and worms are particularly sensitive to high temperatures. In summer, we therefore recommend choosing a shaded, cool and well-ventilated spot, ideally indoors if the temperature is more stable there.
We sincerely regret this bad experience. Worm composting is still perfectly possible in an apartment, and we would have preferred to support you in finding a suitable location before this situation occurred.

St. EgreveAnd yes, the "almost"! I made a few mistakes that I managed to fix, not without difficulty, but hey, someone had to be to blame and it was me!
The "almost" comes from the "super viagra" for worms! I followed the instructions to the letter: the first time, they got wildly excited, but the second time, 15 days later, it knocked them all out. So I created a fresh clean bedding and moved the worms into it, most of them still alive.
Things have been much better since!
I threw away the rest of the "viagra".
(The worms manage to get out of the worm composter, probably due to a slight lack of sealing.)
Anyway, a huge thank you to Julien, who made me want to get started, and to the whole team, who know how to train enthusiasts.

Et oui le "presque"! J'ai fais quelques erreurs que j'ai pu recuperer, non sans mal , mais bon il fallait un coupable et c'etait moi!
Le "presque" vient du "super viagra" pour les vers! j'ai suivi a la lettre les information: la premiere fois, ils se sont excités comme des fous mais a le seconde fois, 15 jours plus tard, ca les a tous mis KO. J'ai donc recree une litiere propre et y ai transvasé les vers, en majorité vivants.
Ca va beaucoup mieux depuis!
J'ai jeté le reste du "viagra".
(les vers arrivent a sortir du lombricomposteur, certainement du a un petit manque d'étanchéité.)
En tous cas, merci énorme a julien, qui a su me donner envie, et a toute l'équipe, qui sait former des passionnés.
