35 mm EM® Ceramic Tubes are made from Kibushi clay fermented with Effective Microorganisms (EM®) and fired at 2,192 °F (1,200 °C), giving them unique properties to revitalize water.

35 mm EM® Ceramic Tubes

Thanks to the principle of resonance, these tubes:

  • Reduce scale buildup;
  • Limit oxidation;
  • Eliminate unpleasant tastes and odors.

Their 1.4 in (35 mm) size is specially designed so they can be inserted into water supply pipes, water lines, tanks, and rain barrels, making it easy to treat large volumes of water while ensuring maximum contact with the material.

Benefits

  • Reduced scale deposits;
  • Improved overall water quality;
  • Versatile use: aquariums, water tanks, rain barrels.
  • Long-lasting durability thanks to high-fired clay.

Your questions about the EM tube 35 mm

The farm's answers to the questions our customers ask us most often.

At 1.4 in (35 mm), the EM Maxi Tubes are designed for large volumes of water: they slip into a toilet tank, a rain barrel, a pipe, a storage tank, or an aquarium. Our product page also mentions the refrigerator, the fruit bowl, the dishwasher, and the washing machine.

The set contains 2 tubes: enough to equip two containers, or to double the dose for a large volume.

Our product page recommends 1 Maxi Tube per 132 gallons (500 liters) in a rain barrel or a pipe, and use in aquariums of up to 39.6 gallons (150 liters). For a toilet, 1 tube in the tank is enough. So for a 264-gallon (1,000-liter) tank, you'll need both tubes in the set.

No. The Maxi Tubes are not an approved water treatment system: rainwater from a rain barrel is still non-potable water, with or without the tubes. The manufacturer markets them for maintaining water tanks and pipes, especially against odors and buildup, though no independent study has demonstrated these effects to date. They are meant to be used as a supplement and do not replace a filter.

Before first use, soak the EM Maxi Tubes overnight in clean water, then place them in boiling water for 10 minutes. Repeat this routine every 3 to 4 weeks.

In between, rinse them regularly with clean water, or leave them overnight in undiluted EM Clean. A greenish film may form in water exposed to light. A quick scrub with a brush is all it takes.

The EM Maxi Tubes are made to last 10 years: the Kibushi clay is fired at 2,192 °F (1,200 °C), which makes them very sturdy. Replace a tube if it's cracked or broken; the old one can then go in your garden. Like all our products, they come with the 2-year Moutta Farm warranty.
