WORMwood Tray Bottom Grid

The metal grids in wooden worm composters are often vulnerable to rust and the acidity of organic waste. Made of durable plastic, the WORMWood grid lasts much longer. Its micro-perforations ensure good airflow and liquid drainage, and they let the worms move from one tray to the next.

One grid per tray: the WORMwood comes with 2 wooden trays and 2 micro-perforated bottom grids, so you can replace just one grid or both. Placed at the bottom of the tray, the WORMwood grid provides aeration and drainage and lets the worms move from one tray to the next. Made from durable plastic derived from recycled materials, it's built to last and comes with a 2-year warranty.

First, attach the geotextile fabric membrane to the inside of the tray with the thumbtacks, then place the WORMwood grid in the bottom of the tray. When you're getting started, lay a coco coir mat and a piece of cardboard cut to fit on the grid of the first tray, so the worms don't crawl down into the leachate tray. Please note: the black color is not guaranteed. The grid may be a different shade or have a marbled look, depending on the recycled plastics used.
