EM Prominant Gel is an innovative topical probiotic care product formulated with Effective Microorganisms (EM®), designed to support the horse’s natural microbiological balance.

EM Prominant Gel - Massage gel for horses

Its thick texture clings to the treated area for longer, while the applicator tip makes precise application easy, even deep into the frog.

Benefits

  • Helps prevent and treat thrush;
  • Supports recovery from scratches (mud fever);
  • Promotes a healthy balance of hoof and skin flora;
  • Limits the growth of undesirable microorganisms;
  • Easy, targeted application thanks to the nozzle;
  • Safe for repeated use.

Many microorganisms naturally live on and around horses. When this balance is disrupted—especially in wet or winter conditions—certain pathogens can trigger problems such as thrush, scratches (mud fever), or rain rot (dermatophilosis).

EM Prominant Gel works on the principle of microbial dominance: Effective Microorganisms (EM®) colonize the treated area (hoof or skin), occupy the available space, and thus keep undesirable bacteria from taking hold.

Its gel texture ensures prolonged contact with the affected area, reinforcing the probiotic action and helping to restore and maintain a healthy microbiological balance.

Directions for use

  • Clean and dry the area if needed.
  • Apply the gel directly to the affected area.
  • Use the nozzle to reach deep into the frog.
  • Reapply as often as needed to maintain or restore microbiological balance.

    Frequent use is recommended for prevention.

Your questions about the EM Prominant Gel

The farm's answers to the questions our customers ask us most often.

Prominant Gel has a simple formula: water, cane sugar molasses, and EM microorganisms (lactic acid bacteria, yeasts, and other microorganisms). It's a gel for external use on the horse's hooves and skin. Its thick texture helps it stay in place on the treated area.

No, Prominant Gel is not a veterinary drug, and it does not treat any condition. It is meant for the regular care of the frog and skin and is applied to a clean area that has been dried if needed. If your horse has a strong odor coming from the hoof, lameness, a wound, or scabs, consult your veterinarian or farrier.

Clean and dry the area if needed, then apply Prominant Gel directly. Its applicator nozzle lets you work the gel deep into the grooves of the hoof's frog, and its thick texture stays in place. Reapply as often as needed, especially in wet weather or during the winter.

Use Prominant Gel as often as needed: the manufacturer states that repeated use is possible and recommends it for regular care, especially in wet or winter conditions, when the hooves stay damp. For example, apply it on a clean frog after picking out the hooves.
